I might have said this before and I know I’ll say it again. All of these songs and the messages in the songs have come from my desire to learn these things, remember these ideas and live this way each day. Slow Dance In the Sand is no exception.

One of my biggest faults is that I have this need to be constantly Doing. I’m great at Doing and I’m lousy at Being!

One thing I’ve learned about relationships in general and my marriage specifically is that magic moments rarely come from Doing. It’s pretty rare to hear a couple fondly remembering the time they cleaned out the garage. And if they do, it’s because during that Doing, they took the time to Be, together as a couple, and did or said something that created a wonderful memory.

That is why the image of that couple slow dancing in the sand in Key West stuck with me. They took the time to create that moment. If it had been Cynthia and I, I probably would have been dragging her all the way across the island to get to Mallory Square before the sunset. At least in the old days I would have. I hope now I would take the time to “Slow Dance In The Sand!”

Thanks for being here!
Matt
